2. Booking and Payment

2.1 Booking Process

Bookings can be made via our online platform or by telephone. Upon booking, a confirmation will be sent to the client with the details of the hire.

2.2 Payment Terms

Full payment is required at the time of booking. We accept various payment methods, including credit/debit cards and bank transfers. All payments are secure and processed in compliance with data protection regulations.

3. Skip Usage

3.1 Placement

The client is responsible for ensuring that the skip is placed on private property with the necessary permissions. It is the client's duty to obtain any required permits for placement on public land.

3.2 Prohibited Items

Clients must not dispose of hazardous materials, including but not limited to:

  • Chemicals and solvents
  • Asbestos-containing materials
  • Electrical appliances
  • Flammable liquids

4. Duration of Hire

The standard hire period is 7 days. Extensions can be requested up to a maximum of 14 days, subject to availability and additional fees. Clients must inform us at least 48 hours before the end of the hire period if an extension is required.

5. Compliance with Laws

Clients must comply with all local, regional, and national laws regarding waste disposal. Failure to adhere may result in termination of services and potential legal action.

6. Liability

While we take utmost care in the delivery and collection of skips, the company is not liable for:

  • Damage to property unless caused by our negligence
  • Loss or theft of items placed inside the skip
  • Injuries sustained during the placement or collection of the skip

Clients are advised to secure their property and ensure safe placement of the skip to minimize risks.

7. Insurance

Clients are encouraged to have appropriate insurance coverage for any potential damage or loss. Skip Hire Gipsy Hill carries liability insurance, but it does not cover the contents of the skip or any third-party damages.

8. Cancellation Policy

Clients may cancel their booking up to 72 hours before the scheduled delivery without incurring a fee. Cancellations made within 72 hours may be subject to a 50% cancellation fee.

9. Health and Safety

Clients must adhere to all health and safety guidelines when using our services. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Ensuring the skip is placed in a safe location
  • Preventing unauthorized access to the skip
  • Using appropriate personal protective equipment when handling waste

10. Changes to Terms and Conditions

Clients must ensure that the skip is accessible for collection on the agreed dates. Delays in access may lead to rescheduling and potential additional fees.

16. Force Majeure

The company is not liable for any failure to perform its obligations due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, strikes, or governmental actions.

17. Entire Agreement

These terms and conditions constitute the entire agreement between the client and Skip Hire Gipsy Hill, superseding any prior agreements or understandings.
